SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

PFLAG Newport Beach will award one (1) Emma Huke Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $2500. Additionally, we will award two (2) $1,000 scholarships, and three (3) mini-scholarships in the amount of $500 each. Download and complete the application—and submit by the April 30th, 2026 deadline. 

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY: 

· 2.0 GPA, or higher 

· Must be a resident (or a parent must be a resident) of Orange County at the time of the application

· Must identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, nonbinary, or intersex (LGBTQ+)

· Must be a high school senior continuing to higher education

TERMS AND IMPORTANT DATES 

• Awards will be paid directly to the student. 

• Application/essay and supporting documents must be received by PFLAG Newport Beach via email by April 30th, 2026. 

• Decisions will be announced by May 8th, 2026. Recipients will be notified by email. 

• Scholarship recipients are invited to attend the Thursday, May 21st, 2026, PFLAG Newport Beach meeting to accept their awards (in person or via zoom—TBD). Attendance at award ceremony is not mandatory to receive the award.
